Our SEO team identified running as the best page to build quality links to, either directly or via a running hub page that internally links to running International coverage was a key focus for us our campaign needed to have international appeal so that we could gain links from foreign sites, particularly from our key territories (Spain, Italy, France and Germany).

We analysed Spotify data for playlists that included the term ‘running’ in English, Spanish, Italian, French and German to reveal the top running songs in each country. We also scraped data for playlists including ‘Disney running’ and ‘musicals running’ to create fun angles and widen the scope of publications we could gain coverage and links from.

Although it’s difficult to determine the impact of a single campaign, SportsShoes regained their position 1 ranking for 'Running Shoes in September, around the time that this campaign began gaining coverage. This may indicate that the campaign contributed to the organic ranking increase.
SportsShoes is also currently ranking 8th for ‘most popular running songs’ on Google search.
